Why? Because Microsoft admitted it was doomed by design speaking in an interview with CNET UK.

If you are planning to develop for Windows Phone 7. Don't. Instead, go with the yet to be released Windows Phone 8.

In the last 12 hours Apple scored a patent victory against Samsung in the states and lost another to HTC in the UK. This ping and pong of patent skirmishes are getting frustrating, even irrelevant.

Back when Samsung released the first Galaxy phone,  I was appalled by the blatant copy of the Apple iPhone 3G. Samsung - BAD. Then the Galaxy tab was released. How can that not be a complete rip-off of the iPad?! Samsung - DOUBLE BAD.

What should have happened then was that both the Galaxy phone and tab are immediately banned from sale. But that didn't happen because ironically the success of the iPad was that it reinvented tablet computers as a simple, non-intimidating rectangle slate... and no one can claim a right on that, or so Samsung argued.

Three years on (a life time in tech) Apple has finally put together a solid legal case against Samsung. But both companies has moved on since with new devices released. Understandably, Apple still want justice even if it's by-gones for the rest of us. And instead of going for the original Galaxy phone, Apple is aiming it's bazookas at Samsung's new toy - The Galaxy Nexus 7.

The problem is, by now, Samsung is innovating. The new Galaxy Nexus 7 tablet has raving reviews and in is arguably a real contender for the tablet space, not to mention a killer low price! So having this banned from shelf means consumers will loose out. Yes Apple should get justice, but I can't help but feel that banning a good product from sale isn't a sensible way forward.

In the end, one does feel that it's a little too late for justice and I just wish all these patent ping-pong isn't a smoke-screen for an Apple that has ran out of good ideas.
